Chango - Spanish slang for "monkey". The challenge with the Chango series was to redesign what has been an exceptional wave sailing board. Equivalent to it's namesake, this board is quick, agile and fun. Josh used our original stock model to win several titles and surf sailors around the world kept praising the Chango for its solid performance.
So why change it? We also believe if good can be better and better can be best then our pursuit of excellence should never settle for "good enough". With subtle ouline improvements and fine detail adjustments, the Chango GT is in Mark ANgulo's words "the best wave board I have ever ridden".
We also expanded the line to 4 sizes, and shaped each model to a more exacting volume making this a solid quiver for serious wave sailing or even if you just want to "monkey around." It's all GU'd!

THE ED ANGULO STORY:
Ed Angulo rode his first wave and shaped his first board in 1968 and he was attracted to the surfing scene like a magnet. As destiny would have it he landed in Huntington Beach at the right place and the right time. A local surf shop offered Ed a job as their house shaper and it was on. He was as inspired a board designer as he was a shaper, combining surfing skills with craftsmans hands and an aesthetic eye. It wasn't long before others discovered the hardcore quality of his stylishly airbrushed Angulo surf- boards and through the years all the big names in the surf industry wanted a piece of the action.
Together with his wife and kids, Ed took his work to Hawaii, the surfing Mecca of the world. His kids grew up surfing Pipeline, Rocky Point and Sunset with legends like Fred Van Dyke and Gerry Lopez to look after them. Next, the family moved to Maui where the Angulos were influenced by the world of wave sailing. The popularity of windsurfing was never higher than in the mid eighties and the success of Ed's shapes and the kids actions made Angulo one of the leading names in the sport.
Over the past several years, Ed has taken his lifetime of shaping experience and applied his skills to creating the very best Standup Paddle boards in the world. The boards go through a lot of testing and Angulo is quickly becoming known as one of "The" brands in the SUP market.
